Melinda Marinelli Obituary

Melinda Ann Marinelli, born May 16, 1960, in Seattle Washington, died on April 28, 2024 in Pocatello Idaho. Melinda was only 63 years old but left a lasting impression on the place she called home for many years.

Melinda was an Escrow officer at Alliance Title & Escrow Corporation for over 30 years. Prior to that she was a server at a popular (now closed restaurant). Melinda's gift of being personable and friendly was equal only to her work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to help other people. Whether they were waiting for their food or buying a home, everyone received gold star treatment from Melinda. If you were to go anywhere with Melinda, you had to plan extra time because people were always excited to see her and wanted to stop and visit for "just a few minutes." As the disease of Alzheimer's progressed, Melinda might not have remembered people's names but she still greeted them with enthusiasm and warmth.

Melinda's many colleagues, neighbors and friends, were considered family to her. They all reciprocated that feeling and she was known as Aunt Milly to many. They will all miss her and her admonition to "don't ever break the spaghetti!". She is also survived by her mother, Paulena Bury (Kennewick WA) and siblings Becky Fahey (Portland OR) , Theresa Rossman (Bend OR) and Mark Marinelli (San Antonio TX) She was also well loved by aunts and uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews through out the US.

A memorial service will be from 4-6 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Wilks funeral home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck Idaho.

Prior to her passing, Melinda requested that donations to the Alzheimer's Association be made in lieu of flowers by visiting https://act.alz.org/site/Donation.

Such a great friend. She was my escrow officer for years...and I never had an issue. If a problem popped up, she just took care of it and didn't bother me with it. She was simply the best. She will be missed and it's so wrong that this hideous disease took her so early in life. She had so much more to give.

We will miss you Melinda...and I won't ever break my spaghetti!!

My sister and I went into the restaurant to get make your own sundaes. We asked Melinda how her day was going. She said, "Alright I guess, I haven't got a $5.00 tip yet today." When we were finished eating we paid our bill, put a 5 on the table and took off. She chased us out of there, yelling, "You take this back! I'm not keeping this!" We jumped in our car and drove off with her shaking that money at us til we were out of sight! Back then 5.00 was probably more than our entire bill.

After meeting Melinda at the 'pool' for water aerobics we became good friends. I invited her to share Thanksgiving with my family 3 years ago. We had a great time laughing and sharing good food. And she always chided me if I mentioned 'breaking spaghetti'! Loved her to pieces. Laverne
