Gladys Strahan Obituary

Gladys "Gigi" Strahan
1928-2022
Gladys "Gigi" (Follett) Strahan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at her home in Round Rock, Texas.
Gigi was born on September 27, 1928, in Angleton, Texas, to Lewis and Lottie Follett. She is preceded in death by her parents, three older sisters, her loving husband, Dr. Richard Strahan, and son, Dr. Randall Strahan. Gigi is survived by her children: Rick Strahan and wife Kerry of Dripping Springs, TX, Russell Strahan of Brushy Creek, TX, Sharon Strahan of San Antonio, TX, daughter-in-law Annie Strahan of Atlanta, GA, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Gigi cultivated an early love of music and excelled in playing multiple instruments. Her talent led to piano and organ performances in church and evangelical functions throughout her life. She enjoyed 60 years of marriage with Richard Strahan, and with his faithful encouragement, pursued further artistic endeavors. Gigi performed puppetry and ventriloquism for children, notably at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. She was active in the Youth For Christ ministry, the Christian Women's Club, the Baytown Little Theatre, the A.D. Players, and other groups throughout Houston. Gigi became a passionate photographer, producing multimedia programs at First and Second Baptist Churches in Houston, as well as other churches and venues across the United States.
In 2007, Gigi and Richard moved to Round Rock to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
A Celebration Of Life service will be held in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway, Houston, TX on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the A.D. Players (www.adplayers.org).

Your Mom was an amazing woman. She shared her talents and gave back throughout her life. She is with your Dad now. Much love to you, Sharon, and your family.

Gigi was a beautiful woman, inside and out! She reflected God's light in everything she did! I know the angels are rejoicing with her in heaven as she celebrates with her family! I feel so blessed to have met her & enjoyed her for the short time we had. She was such a joy to everyone who knew her! She will be missed here but I look forward to seeing her again in eternity!!

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. May God give you comfort and peace during this time of loss. Gigi was such a blessing to me when we were in the same Bible study class. I enjoyed her artistic work that she did to help illustrate Dr. DeLoach's sermons. She was wonderful on the piano. I will miss Gigi.
