Eleanor Robb Obituary

Eleanor Robb
November 15, 1922 - June 17, 2022
Mary Eleanor 'Mulvey' Robb was born in Houston November 15, 1922. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Gorenflo Robb. She joins her son, William George Robb, and daughter, Mary Elaine Aragona in heaven. She is survived by her son, John Ralph Robb and his spouse, Carol Gale Robb. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Keith, Michelle, Phillip, and Monica. Her legacy also carries on with her four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ethan, Grace, and Dominic.
Eleanor was known for her grace, charity, and humility. Active in her parish, St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, she led the Rosary Makers Committee. The Committee provides handmade Rosary beads to missionaries and prison ministries at no charge. Eleanor also volunteered at St. Dominic's Village Retirement Center, operating as treasurer for the gift shop. She also served as part of The Theresians / 5th Dimension, fostering faith and charity amongst Christian women. Her compassion and desire to help others would lead her to serve in these roles for many years.
Eleanor would end up traveling far in her life. But her roots would always lead her back to Houston. Born to J. Ralph and Tenie Jones Mulvey, she would join siblings, John Ralph Jr., and Tenie to complete the family. She would go on to graduate from St. Agnes Academy and attend the University of Houston. Eleanor would meet the love of her life, Bill, starting out as childhood neighbors. Her brother and he were best friends. Eleanor and Bill eventually married in 1947. The couple lasted 54 years until Bill's passing. They would make their home in a number of locations around Southeast and South Texas as an Humble Oil/Exxon family. Corpus Christi ended up being one of their most well-known homes. Later in life they would also spend a three-year stint in Libya. But Houston would always be home.
Eleanor was many things. She was a devout Catholic. Eleanor was a voracious consumer of current events. Eleanor was a fan of the Houston Astros since the club started in 1962. And she loved spending time on the Gulf coast. Those who knew Eleanor understood she possessed an affable nature matched by her strength. Through tough times and good times; from her home country to a foreign land; from losing a loved one to welcoming the next generation; Eleanor faced everything life threw at her with faith and fortitude.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Albert Trapani Catholic Church, 11027 S. Gessner Road in Houston.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, St. Agnes Academy, and the University of St. Thomas in her name.
