Arthur Angelo Obituary

ARTHUR LEON ANGELO, JR., 36, passed away Sunday, October 31st, 2004. Art was born in Nederland, Texas, July 12, 1968. He is survived by his wife Tina Angelo, his 3 year old twins, Lucas Angelo and Sofia Angelo, his parents Art & Connie Angelo, sister Martha Angelo Owens, brother Basil Michael Angelo, nephew Arthur Austin Angelo, grandmother Athanasia Pappaconstantinou of Greece, aunts Sophia Weir, Alexandra Rogakos, Nitsa Tsenes, Georgia Brandon, and uncle George Pappas, and by numerous uncles, cousins, and in-laws. Art graduated from Klein Forest High School in 1986, where he was voted Mr. Klein Forest by the student body. He was a linebacker and running back for the varsity football team. He received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in business administration from LeTourneau University. Art worked as a supervisor for GTE in San Angelo, Texas for many years before moving to Dallas, and working as project manager for Valor Telecommunications. Most recently he was general manager of North Houston Dental Center. Art or as we called him "Hans" a nickname for his handsome good looks, will be remembered by his kind and gentle spirit, his loving nature and wonderful sense of humor. He had a unique way of touching those around him, and that is why he had such an incredibly close network of friends and family. His spirit will live on through his children who were the center of his life. A Trisagio prayer service and visitation will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday, November 3rd, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 4th, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Angelo Children's Fund" make checks to Faustina Angelo, c/o Charlie Hudson, 1311 Freshwater Bay Court, Spring, Texas, 77379.

Memories and Condolences
for Arthur Angelo

Not sure what to say?

Billie and Roberrt Roberts

November 13, 2004

Our condolences go out to the Angelo family. We are patients at the North Houston Dental Center and I (Billie) knew Art when he attended North Harris College. I was very excited when I went for a check up and he was back working there. He was such a sweet and friendly person and got even more handsome from the last time I saw him. To his parents may I say you raised a wonderful son. I haven't met his family, but have seen pictures of his children. May God get you through all of this sorrow.

It's strange how just a few months ago I was talking to my 12 and 14 yr old children about Art and using him as an example as a high school student that was an overachiever. I told them that he excelled in everything that he did and he was kind to everyone that he knew. Even though I had not seen him in years the news comes as a shock and I will be praying for his family. May God be with you all as you heal from this loss.

Basil Michael Angelo

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank everyone for their support and kind words.

For those of you who were not aware, one of Art's closest friends, Charlie Hudson established a trust fund to help his family through this tragedy. The details and address where contributions can be mailed are posted on my website at http://www.basilangelo.com/trust.ht m. Please feel free to forward this to all of his friends that you are still in contact with.

Again, thank you all for your support and kind words.

Regards,

Basil Angelo

Dear Angelo Family,

I have been thinking since I heard about the loss of Art what I wanted to say to you. I've decided that instead of trying to say something profound, I am going to say what I feel. I am so sad about your loss!! He was so special and you are a very special family. I was so touched by the love and outpouring of emotion at his services. I pray he was looking down and seeing just how much everyone in his life loved him. I also hope he can see how much he will be missed. I am one of his high school friends and had not seen him much since we graduated; however, I saw at the funeral, we (friends from high school) are all still very connected and still care about each other very much. Martha, I thought about you first when I heard the news. I think you were as close to Art as any brother and sister I've seen. Tina, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you but I hope to and will help you and the twins in any way I can. I am praying for you and for the entire family. God Bless You All, Michelle McCarley

To the Angelo Family:

My deepest condolences go to you. I worked with Art at Valor Telecom and he was a very loving and kind spirited man. He often spoke about the twins and loved his wife and family dearly. I am deeply saddened by your loss, but his charming personality will be remembered forever. It was truly a privilege to know Art.

Tina,

I recall the time Art came to see me in Human Resources at VALOR (on Dec. 2002) to see what his options were to take some time off for Christmas. If he took a week off it would have to be without pay. Well he chose spending time with you and the babies over money. That spoke volumes to me about his character and his love for you & the babies. May you find strength and peace in God during this difficult time.

Angelo Family,

I just received the news today about Art. I must tell you that I am deeply saddened. I worked with Art at Valor Telecom. He was a wonderful person. He truly loved you Tina and the twins immensely. I admired him for that. The whole world could see it. I'd always love to go to his cube and look at new pictures of you guys. Art will be deeply missed! He had an infectious personality and spirit. I pray that God will give you strength and comfort as the life you've known has changed drastically. I will continue to hold on to the fond memories that everyone at Valor shared with Art. We loved him!

Dear Tina, Lucas and Sofia,

I can't express how saddened I was to hear about Art. I know there's no possible way to comfort you guys, but I know he's in a better place. I worked with him at Valor about a year back. He was always a good friend and cared for his family so deeply. He spoke about you guys often, if not all the time. He had pictures of you guys all over his office cube. He loved you guys so dearly, and everyone who he meets is well aware of the love he had for you all. He'll be missed dearly. I'll always remember the Angelo family in my prayers, especially the three of you.

With love & prayers, Vini

Dear Art, Connie, Martha and Michael,

Our hearts ache for the tremendous loss you now suffer. I remember Hans as a young boy and know how proud you are of the fine man he became.

The loss of one so dear is a reminder to all of us that our time with those precious to us is so fleeting and something we must never take for granted. I know you cherished your time together and I hope the happy memories will be of comfort to you now.

I hope you can also find comfort in the realization that when you truly love someone not even death separates you from them.

We send you our thoughts, prayers and love now and in the days to come.

May God bless you.

I worked with Art, as many of us did, on the late shift in assignment. He always had a good joke, or a good comeback, that made it more enjoyable to come to work. He was quick to laugh, as much at himself as anybody, and he was missed when he left our department. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family. May God help to ease the pain and comfort you in your loss.

We are deeply saddened for your loss, and our hearts go out to you. Everyone who new Art, genuinely loved him.

As mentioned, Art really did have a close network of family and friends, and those of us who knew and worked with him back in San Angelo will never forget his (unique) way of waiting tables or pet selection. Really, didn't Tino look and act just like him?

Those of us here in the San Antonio area met the other night to remember and honor him, and by the end of the night we were literally rolling, as we recalled many amusing stories.

I can't remember seeing him without a smile on his face; he was a positive figure in many of our lives and we will never forget him.
