Kathy Benge Obituary
July 28, 1955 - April 25, 2022
Kathy Whitener Benge, 66, of Bluffton, S.C., passed away Monday, April 25, 2022. She passed peacefully while at home, after a short but courageous fight with ALS.
Kathy was born to the late Luther and Martha Whitener, July 28, 1955.
She enjoyed traveling, being a Mimi, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by fraternal grandparents, Arthur and Ola Whitener; and maternal grandparents, James Cuyler and Viola Truitt.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, David Benge. She is also survived by daughter, Kara Rolon and husband, Louie; son, Ryan Lutz and wife, Anna; stepdaughters, Cara Benge and Kelsey Hennington and husband, Brett; grandchildren, Kennedy and Carter Rolon, Crayton Welborn, and Beau Schneider; sister, Revonda Hamrick and husband, Buren; niece, Andrea Barker and husband, Dave; nephew, Shane Hamrick; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m., at Mtn. Grove Baptist Church, 6156 Mtn. Grove Rd. in Hickory.
