Kathryn Canady Obituary
December 31, 1952 - December 9, 2023
Clayton, North Carolina - Kathryn P. "Kathy" Canady, 71, passed away on Saturday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Jesse Poole and Maggie Capps Poole. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 16th at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Rd. Garner, NC 27529. The burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Clayton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 15th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Rd. Garner, NC 27529. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, E. Glenn Canady; her beloved son, Erick Kirks and wife, Heather of Raleigh; granddaughter, Emerson Kirks of Raleigh; grandson, Wyatt Kirks of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Mary Poole of Lillington; nieces, Dawn Arnold, Rene Pearce, Sandy Akins, Kim Holder, Tammye Emerson, Kathryn Aswell, Lisa Williams, and Lori Townsend; nephew, Jesse McCoy Poole, Jr... In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse McCoy Poole, Sr... In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent to Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Rd. Garner, NC 27529 in Kathy's memory. I met Kathy in 1992 when we both were working at the NC Board of Architecture. We both shared a love of cats and hit it off immediately. We stayed in touch through the years that she worked at the Dept. of Labor and had many lunches at Logan's Garden Center where we walked around and looked at the flowers and shared pictures of our cats. She was a special friend to me and I will miss her dearly. My condolences go out to Glenn, Erick, and the rest of the family in this time of grief. I am so sorry for your loss. Cathy Vaughan
