Henry Topping Obituary

Henry "Hank" David Topping passed away unexpectedly at his home near Palm Springs, Calif., on Monday, June 20, 2022.

Hank graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1991, where he played football and wrestled. Hank attended Northwestern College in Traverse City and Western Michigan University.

Hank had a zest for life and lived the way he wanted. He always had a way to find himself in the middle of something. His knack of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone lead to many friendships and great moments along the way. Hank had a kindred spirit and drew so many to him with his adventurous, no fear attitude. He loved his Fighting Irish, sports cars, motorcycles, great music and concerts, and all sunsets.

His mixture of a hard, fast lifestyle and kind, gentle soul made him unique and a friend to anyone that took the time to say hi. His love for his RX-7 and sunsets was undeniable and that is why he lived in places that he could enjoy them, including Michigan, Colorado, Florida and California. He met the love of his life, Brenda, in Florida more than 13 years ago, marrying her on June 8, 2018. They made a happy life together first in Florida for many years, and the last four near Palm Springs. Hank was most proud of his daughter, Julia, and happiest when he was around his grandsons, Oliver and Miles.

Hank is survived by his wife, Brenda (Hoddinott) of Palm Springs; daughter, Julia (Allen) Bosma of Allegan, Mich.; parents: David and Peggy (Waters) Topping of Stevensville; sisters: Heidi (John) Nowak of West Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Hilary (Eric) Bell of St. Joseph; grandsons: Oliver and Miles Bosma; nieces and nephews: Kyle and Meredith Nowak, and Drew, Chase and Olivia Bell.

Hank has been cremated and a memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later time.
