May 11, 1948 - June 16, 2022
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Darrel Robert Safko, 74, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his home in Rock Hill, SC.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Safko was preceded in death by his son, Tony Safko; and his parents, Donald and Helen Gavelek Safko. He was a member of Saint Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill and a graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose with a pilgrim degree, Masonic Lodge 111 in Rock Hill, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Safko; sons, Col. Michael Safko (Kendra) of Colorado Springs, CO and Darrel J. Safko (Jacy) of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Donna Forster (Warren) of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Sheldon Safko (Masa) of Tigard, OR and Lonn Safko (Debbie) of Garretsville, OH; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road Rock Hill, SC 29732. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1694 Bird St. Rock Hill, SC 29739. The entombment will follow the service at the mausoleum of Grandview Memorial Park, S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill.
The family would like to thank Agape Care Hospice for their loving care of Mr. Safko.
