Michael Hoard Obituary
Mike Hoard Sr, 67, passed away in the early morning hours Monday, July 14th surrounded by loved ones at the home of his son in Rogersville.
He was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, and riding his motorcycle. His hands on approach to life was reflected in his love of working on various projects, he took great pride in his ability to fix and create things. After retiring from So-PaK-Co, Mike continued to spend quality time with his family, making memories that will be treasured forever.
Mike is survived by his brother: Ronnie (Kathy) Hoard; children: Tabatha (Steven) Franklin, Michael (Tracy) Hoard Jr., Makayla and boyfriend Jonah Lamons, Terry and boyfriend Daniel Willis, Megan (Jordan) Lamons, and Tashina (Nate) Moorman; grandchildren: Emmaline, Melayne, Steven Jr., Michael III, Elijah, Abigail, Xavier, Renesmee, Cora-Lynn, and Sophia.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife: Teresa Hoard; his parents; Leonard and Cora Hoard, and many others who were dear to him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Mike's final days. Their kindness and professionalism made a significant difference in his life, and the family is deeply grateful.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service at Afton. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 pm with Rev. Doug Jennings and Rev. Brandon Clayton officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at 9 am Saturday morning to go in procession to Hardin's Chapel Cemetery for the 10 am graveside service.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Hoard Jr., Jordan Lamons, Jonah Lamons, Alan Trantham, Nate Moorman, and Steven Franklin. Honorary pallbearers will be: Daniel Willis, James Harmon, Nicholas Harmon, and Rob Belcher.
In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials can be made in his honor.
