Patricia Vanaman Obituary

Patricia A. Vanaman (Trish) entered into Eternal Life on June 12, 2022, after a struggle with heart failure. Trish’s Beauty wasn’t just skin deep, and everyone that knew Trish, loved Trish. She was the daughter of H. Wesley Vanaman, II and Patricia “Nancy” Saunders & W. Grier Saunders. Trish was born on “The Main Line” at Bryn Mawr Hospital on March 26, 1963. She graduated from Gwynedd Mercy Academy & College, and worked as a paralegal. Trish was a Lovely Lady of Class, just like her Mother, Nancy. Learning to ride at a young age with life long friend Lucy at Radnor Hunt Pony Club kept Trish loving steeplechase racing and tailgating all her life, and she was always a Blue Ribbon winner at The Radnor Races Picnics! Her friendly, competitive nature was known in all the games she played - Pool, Darts, Rummy, & Backgammon. The Phila. Eagles were always winners & don’t tread on her USA flag! Her laughter & consideration will be her legacy. Survived by her best friends Master Sergeant Joey, Lucy, Missy, Mary, Cats Garf & Slick, & Bubba her foxhound,, love of her life niece Katie Vanaman & partner Shannon Mc Sweeney, Aunt Helen, brother Wes, her large Family, and many good friends. A Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 3:00 PM, at the Philadelphia Memorial Park on Phoenixville Pike in Frazier, PA and a reception for her many friends to share memories to follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations to BVSPCA appreciated - where Trish rescued many animals.

I photographed Nancy and Grier Saunder's Honey Brook home 40 or so years ago. After having breakfast there, I observed a framed photo of a beautiful blond hair girl upon a horse. The stunning picture was sitting on a small table near an old grand father's clock next to the front window. Nancy announced that the girl was her daughter. Many years later I met Trish and we became good friends. Our first meeting was at the Eagle Tavern where she came up behind me while I was sitting at the bar and announced herself as "the girl in the window." Trish and I were both born on March 26 and we exchanged greetings this year,,,,our last contact...on the internet. It was just yesterday...Nov. 12,,,that I heard she had passed. The memories came rushing in...the night I spent with her while her little white bichon was dying of cancer; the night she waited for me in her car to trudge through 2 feet of snow so we could go grab a couple of drinks; all of the design preparations she mustered for her annual award winning tent exhibit at the Radnor Races; the time she and her niece volunteered to sit at my book station at the Exton Square Mall while I sold books at another location. Trish liked to help people, and especially dogs, and she was especially devoted to the memory of her mom, Nancy, who I pray she is now with in heaven

I'm really heartbroken that I won't see her again. And that I missed the services. The only girl, growing up, that called me by my real name. I will have to go out and have a Strawberry Daiquiri or two. We had so many good times together. Why her, God?
