Carol Morris Obituary

Carol was born in Billings, Montana to Harold and Louise Glantz. She lived on a farm until 1946, when her father died. Moving into the city of Billings with her mother and sister, Sandra, she attended local schools. Her mother remarried in 1948 and the new family consisted of another sister, Tanya, born in 1950. Carol attended high schools in California, Tennessee, and Illinois. Before graduating from Brookport High School she met the brother of a friend, who had returned from Korea and became her husband for 56 years. She married Edward "Corky" Morris in Corinth, MS on June 29, 1953. Two sons were born, Steven Edward in 1954 and Michael Harold in 1956. For six years she moved with her young family following construction work. In 1960 they moved to Boulder. There she served as President of the Willowbrook Homeowners Association for ten years and on other committees for twenty years. They moved to Westminster, CO in 2001. Love of dancing found Carol and Corky in ballroom dancing classes. Later they learned German dances. Time was happily spent with family, traveling, and helping friends. She was a wonderful story teller with amazing recall of past events. Her interest in genealogy led to writing her relatives' life histories. In her later years she cared for her mother, Louise, and her aunt Sophia, who was like a second mother. She was a loyal friend who will be missed by many. She is survived by her son, Steven and daughter-in-law Lois Howard Morris, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her sisters Sandra Glantz Williamson of McDonough, GE and Tanya Gallop Vaught of Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Corky, and son Michael. Services will take place at Christ Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Pl. in Boulder, at 11 am on Saturday, January 13th. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery following the service.
