Patrick Crawford Obituary

Patrick James Crawford was born in Houston, Texas on April 23, 1947 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the age of 76. A cherished husband and devoted father who lived a life marked by service and passion. Pat proudly served our nation in the U.S. Coast Guard, embodying the principles of honor, duty, and sacrifice. His commitment to public service continued on the streets of Houston as a dedicated officer with the Houston Police Department for 42 years of which 23 years he was assigned to the Elite Motorcycle Detail. Beyond his uniform, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially his love for fishing and rooting for his home teams the Houston Astros and Houston Texans. He was preceded in death by his mother, Terrie Straughan; his twin brother, Michael Crawford, Sr.; and nephew, Michael Crawford, Jr. Pat is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jan Crawford; daughter, Denise Mills and husband, Ryan; grandson, Jacob Smelley; sister, Shelley McMullen and husband, Joe; niece, Angela Jones and husband, Jason. Pat was a loving husband, a caring father and a true servant of both country and community and leaves behind a legacy of honor, kindness and love. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas on Friday, January 26th with a viewing at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
