ROBERT EARL BAILEY
1930 ˜ 2022

Robert (Bob) Earl Bailey, 92, died July 9 at his home in Vancouver. A private graveside service for family and friends was held July 15 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Bob was born in Brookhaven, MS, in 1930 to Vence and Irma Bailey. He was a graduate of Bogue Chitto High School, Copiah-Lincoln Junior College (where he was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society). He graduated from Mississippi State University in Mechanical Engineering in 1954. Upon graduation he joined CrownZellerbach Paper company in Bogalusa, LA, and started a lifelong career in the paper industry. He moved to the Camas mill in 1972. At the time of his retirement his title was Technical Services Manager.
Bob was a man of his word and was known for his honesty and respect for all people. He was a planner and doer and above all else he was a family man, always being there for his family’s needs.
He loved to travel! He and his wife drove their motorhome to almost every state in the USA including Fairbanks, AK, and to every Canadian Province including Nova Scotia. They also traveled to 32 countries in 5 continents.
He is survived by his wife, Elanore of Vancouver; three sons, Michael Bailey and his partner Brian Schmalle of Chicago, Guy Bailey of Vancouver, Doug Bailey and his wife Julie of Camas; one stepdaughter, Lisa Tank and her husband Steve of Ridgefield; two stepsons, Troy Haverkamp and his wife Michelle of Vancouver, and Brent Haverkamp of Oregon City; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janie Bailey; his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
