Edna Louise Jones, age 78, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at Portland Adventist Hospital, hand in hand with her husband of 61 years by her side.
Edna was born Nov. 7, 1943, on the State Line of Wisconsin to her late parents, William Stoneburner and Lucille Sizemore. She was the 5th of 9 children, having 7 sisters and 1 brother.
Edna attended Springfield High School in Springfield, OR. While there she met the love of her life, and on Dec. 5, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart Richard (Dick) Alan Jones.
Over the years she has held several jobs including running an in home daycare, working as a nursing assistant, and most recently as an Office Manager and Accountant for the family business, DJ Fence Service. Edna was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Independent Order of Foresters for 50 years, where she held numerous positions. She also enjoyed bowling in the IOF league with her husband for 18 years. Another position Edna held and was passionate about was that of Coordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Edna spent many hours working and volunteering, and no matter what the job, she could be counted on to give 100%. Her commitment and work ethic were an example to her family and those she came in contact with.
Traveling with her husband was something that Edna enjoyed very much. Although there were numerous destinations, Hawaii was one of their favorites, and they went as often as they could. Over the years, there were numerous hobbies and interests to keep Edna busy. A few of these included reading, crocheting, oil painting, and daily crosswords. At the top of the list along with traveling with Dick, came the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished.
In addition to her “Honey” Dick, Edna is survived by her children, David Jones (Tammy), and Darin Jones (Roberta); five grandchildren, Andrea Rámos (Alexandro), Daniel Jones (Felicia), Nicole Jones, Matthew Jones, Amy Shepler (CJ); and nine great grandchildren, Diego, Cameron, Aerona, Cylee, Maverick, Kenric, Elliana, Teagan, Sawyer.
Although her family will feel the absence of her daily presence in our lives, we will treasure all the precious memories and Legacy of Love that she left us.
Honey, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, you will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts. WE LOVE YOU!
