DOROTHY MAE PHILLIPS
May 24, 1928 ˜ May 28, 2022

A resident of Ridgefield since 1955, Dorothy passed away May 28 at the home she built with her husband Roy. Born in Chadron, NE, she moved to Vancouver with family in her early years. She married Roy Phillips in 1945 and daughter, Carolyn Lee was born in 1946. Dorothy retired from Jantzen, Inc in 1993 after 39 1/2 years of service. She was an amazing seamstress, as well as a master greeter at Vancouver Church!
She is survived by her granddaughter, Dodie (Mark); great-grandchildren Spencer and Jasmyn Yarger; brother, Wayne (Marcene) Backus; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Roy, Carolyn, brother Walter, and sister Ruth.
Private burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service will be held at Vancouver Church - 3300 NE 78th St. Vancouver, WA on Saturday, July 9 at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow.

Your gram was such an amazing lady and I am so thankful to have known her, Dodie!
She was such a spitfire and will be missed dearly. You took such wonderful care of her this past year after losing your mom so suddenly last year...I don't know how you found the strength & grace but, you did...And I am so proud of you for having the strength to endure and keep going!
