CLINTON — Glenda Chesnutt Hairr Herring, 84 of 108 Forest Drive, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at SECU Hospice House of Smithfield.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, at Zoar PFWB Church, 740 Zoar Church Road, Salemburg, with the Rev. Kelvin Blackman, Dr. Ray Ammons, the Rev. Randy Barker, and the Rev. Corky Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the Zoar Church Cemetery.
Born in 1938 in Harnett County, Glenda was the daughter of the late Arlie Vasco and Eunice Lee Strickland Chesnutt. She was a member of Zoar PFWB Church of Salemburg and spent many years in the insurance business until her retirement. To know Glenda was to love her and she will be greatly missed.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Rufus H. Herring of the home; daughter, Jennifer L. Hairr of Salemburg; two stepsons: Corky Herring and wife, Karen of Dunn, and Michael Herring and wife, Mary Ann of White Lake; son-in-law, Tim Lane of Clinton; two step-grandchildren: Brandon Herring and wife, Alex, and Lauren Herring.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her first husband, R.C. Hairr, and daughter, LaRue Hairr Lane.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mrs. Glenda. She was one of the nicest people you could have ever met. The world is a different place without her. She will be missed by many.
