Beloved father of Bonnie Hansen (Bill), Beth Smith (Jim), John Murphy (Kathleen) and Bryan Murphy (Cheri Vasicek). Special Godfather to Tiffanie Joy Luckett. Loving grandfather to Lisa Holcomb (Chris), Shelley Hansen (Jake Tomko), Erin DeSalvo, Jennifer Smith (Dan Trares), Kevin Murphy (Juliana), Heather McCraw (Bruce), Chelsey Miller (Cris Johansen), and Tim Hansen (Erica Catalano). Great grandather of 15, great great grandfather of two. Papa to his caregiver and honorary granddaughter, Vita Carter.
Graduate of Glenbard High School, class of 1949, Korean War Veteran, member of FUMC, Glen Ellyn, proud 65 year member of Local 701 IBEW, former Boy Scout leader and lifelong volunteer. He lived his life by this quote: Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can. We miss you Dad.

To Bonnie, Beth, John and Bryan and your families, our deepest condolences on the loss of your dad. Dennis was truly a friend as well as a co-worker and mentor to both of us in the Local 701 family. When we think of those who lead the way in the early days of our local, Dennis always comes to mind, he was the best.
