I was fortunate to meet Tommy when i was a a freshman at Woodland Jr High in East Meadow & he was a sophomore .I was a 90 lb weakling & Tommy , just one year my senior was a man amongst boys !!! he immediately reminded me of that behemoth wrestler from vision quest..... but the truth is, he was really more like Louden!! Tommy had an aura about him that wasn´t common to most 15 year old boys . He was kind , caring , present & engaged ! Tommy had such a sense of poise & confidence which i am still in awe of today !! He was level headed & head strong , whether in the classroom , on the lacrosse field, or at the lunch table , Tommy was like a gladiator in the arena! Such a formidable force !! Tommy had the ability to be dangerous ! conversely , he was kind, empathetic and patient.....& that´s what made him virtuous!! Any one who had the privilege of knowing Tommy would agree without exception ! i´m remembering how TOMMY used to speak of his family summer vacations up in Maine. He would wax poetically about the inherent beauty of such a pristine landscape....... Who at such a young age has that level of awareness ? I was always envious... Never jealous when he would share the experiences...... in my mind eye , I paint the picture of the Bedard family packed into a country squire station wagon... The ones with the wood panels on the side, in the backseat between TOMMY and his brother, I´d imagine some sort of scruffy dog and a basket full of bologna sandwiches and some sort of vessel containing the gallon of milk. Tommy would need
consume :) to this day I make frequent trips to Maine every summer and hike the trails of Acadia national Park...... there isn´t a single time when I´m packing up the car to head north that I´m not reminded of Tommy Bedard...... as I am remembering Tommy now , a few words come to mind... Character, integrity, grit, and passion are just some ...... TOMMY had it an incredible moral compass, and it was always pointed north...... everybody knows what the right thing to do is without exception ......few seldom do it !!!!
Clearly, TOMMY was among the few who always did the right thing, even if no one was looking! What an amazing spirit having a human experience! My condolences are offered to all those who knew him... And all those who came through him....... TOMMY was just an amazing source of energy.& that energy will be proven to be boundless and limitless as his memory is carried forward by all those he once put on his shoulders!! just for the record , i am sharing all this based on a first impression, I had 45 years ago......i am certain that all who had the honor and privilege of knowing TOMMY ... And especially those who shared a life with Tommy would be an agreement

Tom, you were always so good to me. So, I want you to know I appreciate all you did for me, and the fun we had together for the past 25+ years. Vermont, New York, St John's were just a few adventures that come to mind. There sure were so many more fun times, including the x-mas and summer parties with the Benco and FT team. I'm sad you are gone so early, as your love for life and drive to achieve were infectious. You made me a better man by pushing me to achieve as well. Your favorite thing to poke fun of me; was the nap I took on the skiing trip in Vermont. Every time, you brought that up, your smile appeared just like in the picture above. Even though it was at my expense, I loved seeing you get so excited to tell that story. Your turn to sleep well. Rest in peace my friend.

Tom and I spent a solid 2 years together selling FosterThomas together in Northern, VA, and at the end of my tenure, down in the Carolina's. If Tom never trusted me & invested in standing up a satellite office of FT in the Carolina's, I wouldn't have the amazing family I have today. Tom's willingness to support this while his son attended UNC will forever be something I am grateful for. Being able to sell along side him at a number of clients was a great thing to witness, as Tom was one of the best in the WORLD at selling Benefits & HR Solutions. As we all know, Tom loved to celebrate the good times, and I will never forget the annual Holiday Party where Tom was always in his happy place! RIP Brother!

I'll always remember the Crab Feast Trips on the bay, Tom, Patrick and I filling up boats and bring a crowd to Kentmorr's for crabs and Crushes! The first time Tom taught me about Flexible Spending Accounts for 10 minutes and then said ok, sell me one, and the Sales Pit at FosterThomas on Old Forrest Drive. I hope the Crab Decks in Heaven are huge buddy, RIP.

I have known Tom for 8 years and although I am not at the corporate office, each time I saw him, he was always so encouraging. Tom never passed the opportunity with me to ask how things were going with me and my team; he was genuinely interested. Tom was always a man about loyalty and I will ALWAYS be loyal to FosterThomas and will do what I can to contribute to his legacy. My prayers and condolences to the Bedard family as well as our FosterThomas family. You will truly be missed!
