We didn´t have the pleasure of actually meeting but through my daughter Natasha who did have that privilege of spending time with you I feel I´m allowed to join those grieving your passing. I´m imagining we would have had fun jousting our interpretation of a common language! My sincere condolences to all your family, rest well Sir.

I had a chance to meet John at the North Orlando Bridge Club and played for several months as his opponent. He was an excellent player who was willing to play with many partners and was always gracious, and sometimes threw in a witty comment. After I learned about his background I'd ask him questions about poetry and about his favorite literature. He mentioned Friedrich Nietzsche was a particular favorite of his and I sometimes found him reading Nietzsche he waited for his ride outside of the club. He was definitely a credit to our club and I want to express my condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

I first met John when I began playing duplicate bridge in Tonawanda, NY in the mid 70´s. He was already known for his card skills and achievements. I stopped playing after a few years to marry and raise a family. After some 40 years I returned to duplicate and found John was still a member of the club, playing, giving lessons prior to games, and providing analysis and pithy email comments on interesting hands. I was so happy to reestablish contact and get the opportunity to partner in some sessions with him
I was fortunate to be at the club on his last day there, shake his hand and say a personal goodbye. He has many friends in the Buffalo area who will fondly remember having met John

My condolences to John's family. As a first cousin to him and Kenny, I remember him as "Skipper" - mostly from earlier years.
