BARBARA BUTTERWORTH Obituary

BUTTERWORTH, Barbara (Getz) Barbara Getz Butterworth, a longtime resident of Newton, MA, passed away on February, 7 2024, at the age of 92, in Wilton, CT. She was born on September 22, 1931 in New York, NY to Dave and Marguerite Getz. Barbara married Robert ("Bob") Butterworth in 1957 and raised three children. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science degree from Boston College and her Master's degree in Education from Leslie College. She taught in the Newton Public School system for over 25 years. She is survived by daughters, Anne B. Pagano of White Plains, NY, and Jane Butterworth and partner Fabio Meacci of Newton, MA; son John Butterworth and daughter-in-law Perrin Wicks of Brooklyn, NY; as well as grandchildren, Matthew Goldberg and Lila Butterworth; and sister Carol Ann Getz. Barbara was predeceased by husband Bob in 2009; and granddaughter Alice Meacci in 2021. There will be a private Memorial Service, with Interment at the Newton Cemetery & Arboretum.
