Joseph Mancari Obituary
Joe was born in Pittsfield on October 6, 1955, the beloved son of Francis and Mary (Garnish) Mancari. He was a 1974 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School. Continuing his education, he graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering. Joe happily served as a Civil Engineer for the Massachusetts DOT for over 40 years.
Joe was a man of deep faith and a member of St. Joseph's Church. He enjoyed sailing, camping, motorcycling and taking care of his home. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Joe leaves his wife, Joann (Reed) of 40 years, whom he married October 6, 1984. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents of Lenox; three sons, Nicholas (Ingrid) Mancari of Dalton, Reed (Karyn) Mancari of Pittsfield, and Lucas (Lindsey) Mancari of Pittsfield; brother, Francis Mancari, Jr., of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister, Cathy MacDonald (Keith) of Chicopee, MA, brother Mark Mancari (BJ) of Pittsfield, and sister Trish Petricca (Jeff Carpenter) of Lanesboro. Joe also leaves his mother and father-in-law James and Judy Reed of Hyannis, MA.
Papa Joe adored and will remain in the hearts of his ten grandchildren, Sophia, Lola, Scarlett, Dominick, Calla, Joey, Arlo, Lucy, Barrett and Miles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe and his family would like to thank everyone for all their love and support.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Joseph P. Mancari will be Friday, December 27, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make memorial contributions to Compassionate Care A.L.S. in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.

I worked with Joe at MADOT for a couple of years and he was a hard worker but a lot of fun too. He was a great mentor and a friend. Just a few inside memories from that time:

To Duke, May and the entire Mancari Family, former neighbors of ours at Holmeswood Terrace and Mt. Carmel Church fellow patrons...I knew Joey was sick thru Johnny Giardina within the past several years...I was just on my cellphone with my Mom Mary Salatino when she asked me if I had Mays phone number after I sent her a Facebook Photo of Duke & May recently...when I googled them I saw Joey´s recent Obit...I texted it to her, younger brothers Bill and Bryan and my sister Paula/Eve...we are all so saddened by the news...nothing but fond memories of Mark and the Mancari family, so fun, pleasant and loving...please accept sincerest condolences from our entire Vito Salatino Family of Pittsfield MA. Duke & family. I first met Joe back in 1986 when we were both 30 years old. I seldom remember him without a big smile and a calm, even- tempered manner. I will miss running into him from time to time. Very best to you all going forward !
