Benjamin Adderley Obituary

Benjamin R. Adderley

August 22, 1965 - January 8, 2024

Ferndale, Washington - On January 8, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer, Ben passed away in Bellingham, WA, surrounded by his family. Born in Everett, WA on August 22, 1965 to Ronald and Jani Adderley, Ben grew up in Bellingham and attended Bellingham High School, graduating class of 1983. Ben worked his entire life for the family business, Prism Painting, with his father, son, and many valued employees. An avid sports fan, Ben played sports in school and continued afterwards playing softball in many leagues. He also bowled many years for the Prism Painting team. From the age of two, Ben was a Green Bay Packers fan whose love of the team never wavered. One of his greatest joys was becoming a Packers shareholder a few years ago. He was also proud that he had visited 49 out of the 50 states. Ben was known for his sense of humor, his outgoing, quirky personality, and his deep love for his family and lifelong friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Brittny (Zach) Dillon, Nicholas Adderley, Melissa (Chris) Macaulay-Robinson, and Amber Reed; grandchildren, Emma and Oliver; sister, Janel Malella; father, Ron (Gail) Adderley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jani Adderley.

A celebration of Ben's life will be held on Saturday, February 10 at 1:00pm at Westford's Broadway Hall in Bellingham. Guests are encouraged to wear Green Bay Packers colors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation in honor of their loving care of Ben.

I am so sorry to hear from Ron today that Ben is gone. I only met him once several years ago when he was painting at a place where I occasionally work. Yet, that one meeting and conversations with him over a few days made clear to me that he was a kind and caring wonderful man.

I live in Arizona now but seeing this broke my heart. Many years ago I worked at Sealinks in Birch Bay and Ben would come in after work for a couple of beers and also with his beautiful wife Lori.
Ben had this sense of humor I will never forgot... it always felt like I was being harassed by my older brother in a loving way lol. He would talk about his kids and what they were up to... he was an amazing human and one of my favorites. Sending you love Lori and family

Dear Ron, Lori and Family: Erwin and I are so deeply sorry to hear of Ben´s passing. He was without a doubt one of the most positive and friendliest people we´ve met since moving to WA. He always provided top notch service and we shared many a laugh on his visits to our home to complete painting touch ups for us. We will miss his warm smile. Sending all of you our deepest sympathy and a long and heartfelt hug.

My heart goes you to all of you. Working with Ben and Ron for oh so many years was always a pleasure. Like father, like son. Both always committed to service, quality and integrity. No words can fill the emptiness in your hearts, but the memories of all the good Ben brought to the world can help ease the pain.
God bless you all.
Thank you Ben for just being you!
