Leon Haney Obituary
Born in Burley, ID he was the son of the late Burton and Corrine (Deno) Haney and husband of the late Elsie (Singleton) Haney who passed in 2018.
Col. Haney retired after 37 years of serving his country in both the US Army and the Army Reserves. He also retired after over 20 years serving his community as a Capt. with the Havre de Grace Police Department. A member of the American Legion Post 47 and FOP he enjoyed hunting, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Deckman and her husband Robert of Havre de Grace, Leon Haney, Jr. and wife Judy of Aberdeen and Barry Haney and his wife Kim of Aberdeen; siblings, Robert Haney of Reno, NV and Janell Swartz of Boise, ID; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4 from 10am-12pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home where a funeral service will begin at 12:00pm. Interment with military honors will be at Harford Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.tarringcargo.com.
