SHARP, III, John D.

John D. Sharp, III, age 77, of Lilburn, GA, passed away January 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by parents, Col. (US Army Ret'd) and Mrs. John S. Sharp, Jr.

John Sharp, III, is survived by wife, Paula Weigand Sharp; son, John Daniel Sharp, IV; daughter, Becca Sharp Owens (Tim), grandchildren, Abigail, Lincoln, Noelle, Madeline; sister, Carolyn Day (Mike); nephew, Ben Day; Niece, Helen Day Potts (Greg); and grandnieces and nephew, Jillian, Renee, and Bryan.

John's rewarding career was as an Advancement Director for a ministry in World Evangelism. His 28 years there led to over 2.6 million first time conversions to Christ in 3rd world nations. John loved his work, his family, hiking, running, hearing bagpipes, traditional Irish music, reading history, and biography.

He was loyal, faithful, a prayer warrior and loved an audience.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of John D. Sharp, III will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Redeemer Church in Snellville, GA, with Pastor David Goebel, officiating. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM, at the funeral home.
