Mark Gosen Obituary

Mark Andrew Gosen, 45, of Gainesville, Florida passed away June 21, 2025. He brought a smile and warmth to everyone he met, regardless of how or where he met them. His smile was infectious, his hugs were legendary, and his love was all-encompassing. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or only a moment, he made you feel loved, seen, and valued.
Mark was born in Saginaw, Michigan to James Gosen and Barbara Hughes. He was the younger brother to Michael and a friend to all. He had a gift for kindness, a passion for karaoke, love for his cats, and an uncanny ability to lift others up just by being himself. Mark brought life into his community with his passion for music, talent for DJing, and unrivaled dedication to creating safe spaces for fellowship, all while maintaining a youthful and tender heart.
He is survived by his parents James Gosen and Barbara Hughes; stepparents Carolyn Gosen and Mitch Lenczewski; brother, Michael Gosen (Kirstie); grandfathers Carsten Gosen and Buryl Hughes; stepsisters Tori Lynch and Amber Lynch; nephew Kolby Gosen; an extended circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his beloved cats Catmeat and Godzilla; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by grandmothers Ruth Gosen and Irene(Tootie) Hughes; uncle David Hughes; and beloved Katie. Though our time with Mark was far too short, the joy he brought to all will live on forever and be his legacy.
In lieu of memorial gifts, the family asks that you honor Mark's memory by giving a Mark hug to those you love.
