So sad to hear of Peters passing from here in the UK. He and Gwen were wonderful friends when myself and my family arrived in ChCh and lived at the Motel for nearly three months in 1972. The whole family live large in my memory. lovely people. God bless my friend stammering Peter! I see him still.

I remember Peter picking us up for Bible Class every Sunday morning in your station wagon. Often we were invited for lunch or dinner at the motel. The ontbijtkoek and oliebollen were yummy. You took us out on walks and outings sometimes. I especially remember traversing the rocks around Taylor's Mistake in our Sunday best (I was slightly scared lol) . I remember our Bible Class trip to Lake Daniels and a weekend at the batch at Hamner with the Youth Group and Reese Camp too. I remember your Dutch accent and your slight stammer, most of all I remember your kindness and generosity and your willingness to share your time, your knowledge of the scripture and advice on life. Condolences to Gwen, Aleida, Karen, Dirk and Mark. R.I.L Peter

Sad to hear news of Peter's passing and sending all my alofa to Gwen and the family. How blessed was I to have Peter and Gwen to guide me (and many others) as such caring elders at St Paul's Trinity Pacific Presbyterian Church during our formative years. Then open up their home in Christchurch and later, Hanmer, for us and our children. As a family you all had such a major impact on our lives. Remembering you with so soooo much love Peter ... always.
