Uncle John was a wonderful host to Ben and I when we visited many years ago and we were thrilled when he was able to come to our wedding. I can't imagine how very sad it must feel to say goodbye already. Warm hugs from us,

Saddened to hear of John's passing. I had great respect for him during my time at Air New Zealand Christchurch. Always with a ready smile and most supportive of all he worked with - respected by all. One of life's gentlemen.

It was my absolute privilege to work with John in Agency Sales at Air New Zealand for a number of years from about 1980.
The abiding memory I have from working with John was his even temperament and unfailingly gentlemanly disposition.
He was held in the highest regard by all of the travel agency managers and staff for whom he was responsible in the Agency Sales position. All of whom I am sure will be genuinely saddened by his passing.
A lovely guy and an honour to work closely with. Gentle and unassuming. But still able to surprise. I seem to recall that the last time I saw him - years later - was at a Bonnie Raitt concert at the Christchurch Town Hall. Jenny - bless her - might have had to convince John to attend that one.
My sincerest condolences to her and all of John’s extended family at the loss of such a lovely genuine feller. He will be truly missed.
