Sending Deepest sympathies to Viv friends and families. I was saddened to hear of Ian's death.
What a precious legacy he has left for us to enjoy and remember him. I feel very lucky and honoured to have shared a stage and made music with both he and Viv.
The song that will remain with me is of Ian playing I Cover The Water Front on my album Blues Angel - Just Superb.
R.I.P Ian Edwards.

The haunting sound of Stranger on the Shore played at Faye Irvine's house on Marriner Street at Sumner, with my Dad Robert Negus, Helen Denize and Viv, back in the early 1980's, is perhaps my strongest memory. Dad and Faye died in 2019 and 2020 respectively, but your friendship with them was a great pleasure to them for many years. They were so proud of both of your musically. So I their behalf, I extend our family condolences to Ian's family.

My deep condolences Viv. Ian was truly gifted, a real professional but somehow always had the time to have a chat, even if the first bar had started...A privilege to have heard him play so many times

I have fond memories of Ian when he joined us in the Tru Tones Band in CHCH as our alto sax and clarinet man in the early 60,s.
He was a brilliant musician and we had some great times / gigs together.Still remember his Aker Bilk hat and playing Stranger on the Shore- also Golden Wedding which was quite difficult,
He will be greatly missed in the music world
