Very saddened to read that Honor has passed. She will be deeply missed by many.

She was such a loving support to me in my teenage years. Many things have stayed in my memory - her wonderful cooking (roast potatoes which began in the pressure cooker, fruit flans, and "beer" casserole), all produced in a kitchen with two sinks, an idea ahead of its time.

Honor had a real gift for hospitality. There were wonderful books, and card games and an every present love of nature. She was a breath of fresh air to my authoritarian upbringing which opened my world, and influenced the person I am today.

When it was time to choose a direction, she told me;"Do Science! We need more girls in Science." So I did and I thrived. It has sent me in some amazing directions.

To all of you who are missing her, I am thinking of you today. She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Honor in the Vocational Guidance Service Dunedin in 1983. Honor was truly a gentle lady who always seemed to give you her full attention. I thank you for your advice.
