I believe you were a great athlete & ran a fine 220 as an 18 year old. I met you when I coached the Kiwiable Dragon Boat team about 20 years ago. There were so many people with disabilities in our squad that the organisers didn't know what to do with us but then we started winning a few races. You were one of the great motivators from the middle of the boat. We had to get you an aluminium side seat so you could use your natural strength on the paddle. We had a ball. We trained in wonderful Lyttelton harbour for several years and raced in ChCh, Wellington, Dunedin. I treasure those memories & the medals we won. Thank you Gary - the best team man I ever knew.
