To the Family of Ray Entwistle,

It is with great sadness that I just stumbled on the notice of Rays passing. As I turned the pages of the daily paper I saw Ray's beaming smile projecting out of the page and read the obituary.

Unfortunatelyby the time I saw this Rays funeral was already underway and so I missed this event. Ray was my Basketball coach when I initially played for Checkers Basketball Club. While playing for Ray the team achieved many milestones and although never quite winning the national championship, we were probably the best team in NZ at the time for several seasons. I really enjoyed playing for Ray and catching up with Ray at the Checkers club selling raffle tickets and having a few beers on a Friday night.
Ray was one of those very few people who you could say was a genuine "good man". He was generous with his time, patient, caring, and had an amazing sense of humour. He made a difference in many young people's lives by being a great role model and true friend and he will leave a vacuumand will be missed.

My personalthanks to you Ray for everything that you did for me and the other club members. I am sorry that i can'tbe there to send you off in an appropriate manner and I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to those who care for you.

Kindest regards
