Condolences to all of Pete's family on his passing. A true gentleman who was proud of his Irish origins and displayed the traits with stories and memories told in an elongated way but never loosing anyone's attention. Am so pleased to have known Pete and my family and I send our true and heartfelt sadness on his passing. He was so proud of his children and loved his grandchildren. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Our sincere and deepest sympathy to you all. Peter was a much loved cousin and just the best friend.
Loved catching up with him a couple of years ago in Wellington and having great yarns about the old days in Timaru and out at the farm in Orton and Temuka. Great memories of camping out on the Temuka River.
Peter was the nephew of Robert Emmett (d) and Marie Dorothy O'Reilly (d) and the first and double cousin of Brian, Kevin(d) and Paddy O'Reilly.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all and sending our love to all the family.

Very sincere condolences to the O'Reilly family. Have very fond memories of Pete and the times we had together over a pint and an Irish tune oh, and a punt. I will be unable to attend Pete's funeral, however, he will be in my thoughts and prayers. Fond regards, Geoff McCambridge.

To Dan, Simon and families .It is with sadness that I read of Peters passing today , I am also fortunate to treasure some wonderful memories of adventurous trips to the West Coast and rugby fixtures in various parts of the country .Rugby Racing and Beer was the motto and I trust there will be a Guinness lined up at the Pearly Gates for him .
A good friend , who will not be forgotten .

One of New Zealand's humble contributors, good things happened around Peter. He was often the quiet hand behind the action, not seeking accolades just getting things done. A gentleman of high integrity and commitment to what was right and good. It was a great privilege to work with Peter during my time as Chair of the New Zealand Racing Board.

One of the great story tellers and pie conisueer's. Also one of life's gentlemen who was a respected and loyal colleague who injected his zest for righteousness into our team at DIA. Will be missed by the old Inspectorate crew but the stories will endure. Rest in peace Pete.
