William (“Bill”, “Dad”, “Pappa”, “Uncle Bill”) B. Barnett, Jr., 82, of Huntsville, TX, passed away peacefully October 23, 2021, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Born May 18, 1939, in Carlisle TX, Bill was a loving husband, father of three, grandfather of six, family provider, brother of three, and friend of many.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine June Rowe Barnett, parents William Brown Barnett and Anna Lou Newman Barnett; brothers Hulen H Barnett, Clell L Barnett, and Kenneth G Barnett; and son James Anthony (“Tony”) Barnett. Survivors include: son Russell (Rusty) of Huntsville, TX; daughter Angela Murray of Jamestown, NC; grandsons Gary Smock, and wife Jennifer, Matthew Smock, and Elijah Murray; granddaughters Kailey Murray, Abby Barnett, and Anna Barnett; brother-in-law Dave Rowe, Sisters-in-law Geri Dye and Shirley Hunt; great granddaughter Parker Smock, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill and Lorraine were married in 1961 until death did them part in 2017. He was a hard-working provider as a mechanic for many years, and a retired plant manager from the State of Texas. His loves included family, friends, providing for his family, playing guitar, singing country music, and card games.
A Life Celebration and Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on November 20, 2021 at the Chapel of Carlisle Cemetery, off of Hwy 356 in the unincorporated community of Carlisle, TX. In lieu of flowers, at his request, the family asks that donations honoring Bill be made to his final resting place, The Carlisle Cemetery Association through Citizens State Bank, PO Box 830, Groveton, TX 75845.
