Victoria Lee Ray of Brinkley passed away Sunday, November 14, at the age of 86. She was born on April 17, 1935 to the family of Clarence and Edna Grizzle in Wheatley, Arkansas. She was blessed to share childhood memories with five siblings. Victoria received formal education in the nearby community of Brinkley, graduating with the class of 1953.
When studies came to an end, Victoria secured a position with Southwestern Bell as a Telephone Operator. She remained a dedicated and faithful employee, well known by many in the community. In the mid 50's she met Roy Ray a traveling lineman who also worked for Southwestern Bell. On October 27, 1957 Victoria and Roy married. They chose to make their home in Brinkley, and through the years were blessed with the birth of two sons.
Victoria was of the Christian faith and attended times of worship at the Brinkley First Assembly of God. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, cooking and was always focused on family. Victoria was also part of the Widows Well and enjoyed taking part in the outings and luncheons with the other ladies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Ray (2010), siblings, Albert Grizzle, Charles Grizzle, and Imogene Grizzle.
Victoria is survived by sons, Roy Ray Jr. and wife Melissa of Chester, Virginia and Charles Ray of Conway; two grandchildren, Thornton Ray and wife Rachel of Fredricksburg, Virginia, and Andrew Ray of Chester, Virginia; brother Reid Lynn Grizzle of Brinkley and sister Virginia Hudspeth of Cabot.
