Shirley Lee was born April 13, 1936 in Stroud, Oklahoma, but spent most of her upbringing in Russell & Macksville, Kansas and adulthood in Perryton, Texas. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Perryton, Texas.
Shirley Ott married Troy Lucas on August 21, 1954 in Macksville, Kansas. Shirley was a fierce, God-fearing woman, and a very loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed being with each and every one any chance she could. She loved to vacation to Fun Valley with her family or visit them in Louisiana. She was a caregiver/nurturer from a young age that followed through her life. There are many children at The Beehive who received Shirley’s ruby red kisses. You had better believe nobody’s grandkids were better than hers, and she would show you pictures to prove it. She will be missed dearly, but we know that she is in Heaven and is dancing with Troy. What a joyous reunion that must have been.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy, of nearly 52 years, and her parents, Alma Ott and Ray Ott. Survivors include her two sons, Randy Ray Lucas and wife, Shelia, of Liberal, Kansas; Rick Jay Lucas and wife, Beverly, of Chandler, Texas; sisters, Trudy Goodheart- Brother-in-Law Earl Goodheart and Marsha Rome-Brother-in-Law Bill Rome; four grandchildren, Misty Gail Lucas, Michael Ray Lucas, Cody Jay Lucas, and Kassie “Nae” Stagg; and eight great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made remembrance of Shirley to the Toby Keith Foundation (https://www.tobykeithfoundation.org) to help support the health of pediatric cancer patients.
