Ruth Bolen Obituary
Ruth Ann Bolen, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens. She was born November 3, 1936, in New Floodwood, the daughter of the late Homer and Ethel (O’Nail) Beal. Ruth was married for 67 years to W. Lowell Bolen, who survives.
Ruth was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Nelsonville High School.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her daughters, Marty Bolin of Lancaster and Judy (Tim) Warren of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Kayla (Beidy) Sow, Michelle Bolin, Kari (Brad) Bell, and T.L. (Sabrina) Warren; great grandchildren, Django Sow, Kinsey Bell, and Brantley Bell; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Corrine and Max McGuire of Carroll.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Hudnell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Barry Bolin officiating. Interment will be in in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Donations may be made in memory of Ruth to the Nelsonville High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, PO Box 472, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.

My heart just breaks for Lowell and family. I used to work at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville and Lowell would come in to donate blood and bring Ruth with him. Lowell was in my grandmothers class growing up. I always enjoyed my visits and talks with the two of them. They were very special to me. May your memories carry you through this most difficult time.
