RaShad "Shad" Westbrook Obituary
RaShad “Shad” Omar Renyelle Westbrook was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to his mother, Varonica Westbrook Kremp.
He was educated in the Carthage Public School District where he was active in sports, especially basketball. Upon graduation, he went on to play with an independent basketball league in Sheridan, Arkansas for a while, then later on he was enrolled in a modeling school in Texas, soon finding out that was nothing he wanted to do even though his mother and grandmother tried to talk him into it. Shad resided in Dallas for twelve years before relocating to Malvern where he met several individuals who ultimately became lifelong friends, and joined the workforce, holding numerous jobs. Some of Shad’s favorite pastimes were cooking, especially grilling for family and friends, and spending time with the apple of his eye, his daughter, Kamiya (Butt Butt).
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Varonica Westbrook Kremp of Malvern, a special friend, Shanetta “Trease” Barker of Bryant, AR, she could always put a smile on his face. He also leaves to cherish his memories brothers: RaaSheed Keiththra Westbrook and RaaHeid West of Malvern, AR; three children: D’Mario Harris, Kamiya Jordan, and Daytriona Johnson, all of Malvern; special aunt, Mecletus “Mel” Watkins, who helped raise him; godmother, Janice Lambert of Malvern; two step brothers: Cooper Layne of Los Angeles, CA, Austin West of Slidell Louisiana; two step sisters Aleatrice West of Little Rock, Katherine Kremp of Arizona; God sisters: Kenya Lambert of Malvern, Calicia Thomas / Scott of Arkadelphia, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.
Shad’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P. M., Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Victory, Praise and Worship Church in Malvern. A visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022, at Brandon's Mortuary in Malvern, from 5:00 P. M. - 7:00 P. M. Shad's earthly body will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery in Carthage.
