Oswald Arnold (Ozzie) Brensdal, 91, of Westby, Montana passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood.
Born November 14, 1930 at the family farm of rural Antelope, Montana, he was the youngest of nine children born to Peder and Brigette Brensdal. He attended Alcott School in the country, then Comertown High School where he was salutatorian of his graduating class. His oldest brother, Tryg, would remind him that with only two students in his grade he was also at the bottom of his class!
He joined the Montana National Guard and served seven years. In 1956 he married Joyce Sundheim of Froid. A farmer and rancher his whole life, he was proud of raising his "Oreo Cookie" Buelingo cattle. He also worked on the Fortuna Air Base, the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Westby High School construction projects.
Ozzie was also an avid sports fan, with basketball being his favorite. During tournament time, when he wasn't attending the games, he could be found in his recliner, with his radio head phones on listening to one game, watching another on TV, and looking at the newspaper sports page in his lap!
Dad was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, having served as deacon and president in his lifetime, rarely missing a Sunday until old age and mobility issues slowed him down. He also served for many years as a board member and road supervisor for Elkhorn Township in Divide County, North Dakota.
Ozzie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Tryg Brensdal, Harold Brensdal, Lillian Peterson, Judy Osmundson, Borgny Dahl, Hulda Brensdal, Betty in infancy, Bjarne Brensdal, and his son Jason Brensdal.
He is survived by his children Mark and his wife of Plentywood, Kevin of Westby, and Amy and her husband of Billings, as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren.

I´m so sorry to hear about the loss of Ozzie. Thinking back to when we were younger we would see you folks at St John´s gatherings or even at the McElroy dance gatherings. Ozzie always said hello when ever I saw him. Hugs to you all.
