Mr. Enoch Tate Obituary

Mr. Enoch Edwin Tate was born May 9,1963 the son of Betty Ann Tate. He was baptized and a member of St. James C.M.E. Church.  Enoch attended Beecher Community Schools and Flint Public Schools where he played basketball for both. He was employed in his younger years at Maxi Meats as a meat cutter.  He had numerous jobs as a cook.  


His last place of employment was at the “Big House”, better known as the University of Michigan-Flint. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all sports especially any sports that represented Michigan Lions, Pistons, Tigers, and Red Wings. He was a University of Michigan’s football and basketball “BIGGEST FAN”.  Enoch’s favorite past time was cooking, fishing, bowling, going up North to Idlewild MI, discussing politics, the Supernatural, and watching CNN News.  He loved listening to Parliament Funk, Bootsie Collins, Prince, New Edition, and Bobby Brown.  Most of all Enoch loved baby-sitting his great nephew, Tyrese his availability was always open.  Enoch has an “Infectious smile”, that will forever be remembered.


            Mr. Enoch Edwin Tate leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Betty Ann Tate, 2 sisters, JoAnn Tate, and Leslie (Markus) Tate-Carter both of Flint, Michigan, 1 brother, Eric Tate of Flint, Michigan, 5 nieces, Raven Simmons, Ericka (Will) McCubbin, LaToya Tate, Dana Tate, and Tanasia Tate, 4 great nephews, Bryce Simmons-Griggs, Josiah Tate, Collier Tate, and Tyrese Crockett, 3 aunts, Barbara Bennefield of Detroit, Michigan, Leah (Dr. Wylie) Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois, Carol McFadden of Ocala, Florida, 1 great-aunt, Alma Tate of Flint, Michigan, 13 first cousins and many more.


            A host of special friends, Community of Beecher, Evergreen Valley, Stewart Parks, and Rollingwood. “You know who you are”.


            Mr. Enoch Edwin Tate was preceded in death by, grandparents, Joseph and Mary B. Tate, great uncles, Leslie Tate and Fred Tate, great aunt, Lavanda Tate, and sister-in-law Teri Tyler.                                    


            The family would like to express special thanks to, Darlene Baker, Tricia Hussy, Pat Adams, Elonda Clemons-Woodward, the White family, and Martin J. Banks/Legacy Funeral Chapel and staff.
