My mother, Micaela "Micky" Tristan, died on June 26, 2022. She is survived by her son Martin (wife Susan); grandchildren Christian (wife Christina); Emilee (husband Jose) and Noelle; great-granddaughter Valerie; and great-grandson Tristan. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor, son Richard, brothers Ancieto and Pedro; and sisters Maria, Rosario, Saturnina, Andrea, and Sarah.
She was the youngest born to Juan De La Fuente and Angelita Flores in Seguin, Texas on September 29, 1936. In 1956, she met Victor on a dance floor in New Braunfels. This would be the first of many dances they would share. After they married on June 26, 1956, they migrated from Texas to Michigan and California in 1957. They were blessed with sons Richard in 1962 and Martin in 1968. In 1973, they settled in Oxnard, CA and Micky went to work for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) until her retirement.
Micky will be remembered as a Mother, Grandmother, and Nana. She loved listening and dancing to Ranchera and Tejano music. She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, traveling with Victor, reading, and writing her letters. She cared deeply for her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play sports and spoiling them at every opportunity. When she retired, she joined Victor in helping care for their granddaughters. Both have fond memories of spending time with their Nana every day after school. She also took great joy in being a great-grandmother and one of her final wishes was to meet her newborn great-grandson Tristan, just before she passed.
Micky passed peacefully at home two days after choosing to go on hospice. She will be remembered and missed by all her loved ones. Services for Micky will be a visitation at 4:00 p.m. and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on July 13, 2022, at Santa Clara Mortuary and a funeral mass at 10 a.m. on July 14, 2022, at Santa Clara Church.

I just found out that Micky had passed away in 2022. I would like to express my sincere condolences to Micky’s family. I’m a fellow co-worker from 3M Company and had worked with Micky.
One of the things that Micky and Victor had that was very dear to their hearts was their Baby Jesus. They had broken it twice and I was able to repair it for them both times. I’m downloading a photo of their Baby Jesus just after I repaired it. They were both very happy to get their treasure back.
Best regards

May you rest in peace Tia with tbe rest of your family. I will miss the talks we would have on the phone and the laughs about what you and mom would do when you were kids.. I loved you so much and I am proud that my daddy gave me the nickname of Prieta, like you. Give my parents a hug from all of us.

Prayers and condolences are extended to the family of my friend Micaela. Even though we never met face-to-face we learned to know each other through our letters. What a blessing your mother has been to me. Elaine Reinhard
