Mary Gibson Obituary

Mrs. Mary Gibson, age 95 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry Gibson of Jasper, L.C. Gibson of Canton, and Andy & Belinda Gibson of Cartersville; daughter and son-in-law, Gladys & Lenard Childers of Jasper; grandchildren, Teddy & Sharon Childers, Penny & Tony Aaron, Vickie & Steve Smith, Charles & Amy Childers, Dwight Childers, Roger Childers, Hope & Rodney Tew, Andrea & Lee McDaniel, and Kevin Gibson; several great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Horace Childers; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pettigrew

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Gibson; daughters, Bettie Childers and Patsy Morris; grandson, Douglas Childers; parents, John & Rosa Pettigrew; brothers, Luther Pettigrew, Charlie Pettigrew, Taft Pettigrew, Howard Pettigrew, and Estel Pettigrew.

Visitation is Thursday, February 3, 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Buck Parker, Rev. Grant Wade, Rev. Ronnie Ray, and Rev.  Matt Lathem officiating.

Interment will be at the church cemetery following the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Dwight Childers, Roger Childers, Charlie Childers, Lee McDaniel, Rodney Tew, and Mitchell Tew.

The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
