Livingston- Joyce Hargis Obituary

DECEASED: Mrs. Betty Joyce (Dixon ) Hargis age 83 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mrs. Betty Joyce Hargis was born in Rickman, Overton Co., TN on Friday, March 4, 1938 to the late Morris and Laura (Cantrell) Dixon. For the last several years, Mrs. Hargis was a homemaker. She loved her family, and spent time crocheting blankets to give to them. She loved being outdoors taking care of her animals. She attended the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, and often talked about going to Heaven to meet Jesus and to see her Husband again. Mrs. Hargis will be greatly missed by her family, but she has left you with memories to carry with you throughout your life and always remember how she could put a smile on your face and make you feel better about anything.

SURVIVORS: 6 Daughters: Kay Evitts and her husband Mickey of Jackson Co., TN, Sharion Fay Wilson and her husband James of Monterey, TN, Karion “Lulu” Lee of Livingston, TN, Deb Presley and her husband Steve of Livingston, TN, Laura “Sissy” and her husband Chris of Livingston, TN, Leasa Presley of and husband Donald of Monroe, TN; 1 Son: Duane “Bud” Hargis and his wife Sheila of Monterey, TN; 1 Sister In-Law: Genat Dixon of Rickman, TN; 21 Grandchildren; 48 Great Grandchildren; 19 Great, Great Grandchildren; a host of other family and friends also survive.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents; her husband Eddie Gene Hargis; 2 Brothers: Clenton Dixon , Jimmy Dixon and his wife Margie; 1 Sister: Geneva (Dixon) Cantrell; 1 Granddaughter: Becky Barham; 1 Grandson: Daniel Gore; 1 Great Grandson: David James (DJ) McClintock.

PALLBEARERS: Billy Laycock, Jeremy Carr, Nathan Hargis, Matt Britt, Bubba Diamond, JE Ledbetter. HONORARY: David Bull, Shawn Holman.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Joyce Hargis will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2 PM from the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church; Family will welcome Saturday, February 5th starting at 5 PM to 9 PM at the Church. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Ricky Lacy and Bro. Jeff Short.
