Joseph Dawson Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Lee Dawson, born on April 2, 1946, passed away peacefully at his home 

In Leesburg, FL on June 3, 2022, at the age of 76. 

Joe was born in Orlando, FL to Chester and Carrie Dawson. He was a proud member of the, 

United States Marine Corp. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking and gardening. 

Joe was a business owner in construction and auto glass and upholstery. Joe loved spending time with family and friends. Joe had three brothers and one sister he enjoyed and loved growing up with. 

Sister: Ann, brothers: Leland, Jerry, and Marvin. 

Joe married his childhood sweetheart Cecelia McMichen on May 26, 1964. They were happily married for 58 years. 

Joe was a loving husband, father, Poppy Joe and Great Poppy Joe. 

Joe is survived by his wife Cecelia Dawson, daughter Sherry Daugherty, son-in-law Steve Daugherty, daughter Stephanie Dragon, son-in-law Rick Dragon, grandchildren Kasey Mincey, Rachel Flowers, Derek Daugherty, Shelby Dragon, Sydney Dragon. Great grandchildren Peyton, Sadie, Christian, Lucas, Colbie, Jude, Lola, Charlee, and Parker. 

A celebration of Joe’s life will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
