Donnie Rogers Obituary

Donnie Wayne Rogers, 70, of Holton, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.   He was born November 5, 1951 in Des Arc, Arkansas the son of John and Nellie Smith Rogers.   He lived in Arkansas and Ft. Myers, Florida while growing up.   He moved to Topeka in 1994 to work with his nephew Harry on the highway project from Topeka to Holton.    He also worked at PTMW in Topeka.   He was a member of the Laborers Union in Topeka.  


He loved to hunt and fish, talk, southern cooking, Friday night wrestling, TV Land Channel shows and time with his family.   Donnie mentioned that he would miss spending time with them after he passed.


He is survived by his companion, Jill Flewelling of Holton; children, Garrett Rogers of Topeka, Jonathan Sheperd of Dover, Arkansas, Dustin Rogers of Austin, Texas and Angelina Rogers in Arkansas; siblings, Freddie Rogers in Arkansas, Annette Rogers in Florida and Betty Thurman in Arkansas; grandchildren, Samuel, Sophia, Alexandro, Lei’la and Elijah; and many nieces and nephews including Harry Hogan of Holton.


Cremation is planned.  Donnie’s ashes will be buried in Arkansas at a later time.

Jilly, ive just learned of Donnie's passing . I am so sorry that i didnt keep in closer contact. Donnie was one of a kind. A true, gentle soul, and one of the best friends i ever had. My sincere sympathies to you, Garrett, and all of his other children and family.
