Wim NIJHOF Obituary

In Loving Memory of Wim

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful Wim, who passed away peacefully at home on 8th April 2025, aged 61. Wim was a much-loved husband to Kate, loved son of Alfons and his late mother Anna, son-in-law to Jill and Eric Gittins, a devoted father and father-in-law to Carlijn and Hugh, Sjoerd and his partner Fanny, and Wikke. He was also a cherished stepfather to Luke and Meg, and a loving Opa to little Fenna. A funeral service to celebrate Wim's life will be held at Tai Tapu Community Centre, on Tuesday, April 15 at 10.00am. As per Wim's wishes, we kindly ask attendees to wear bright colours to reflect his vibrant spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Te Ara Kākāriki Trust, an organisation close to Wim's heart, which supported him in restoring his land into a unique green dot of native bush https://kakariki.org.nz/donate
