I only met you a few times through the Te Ataarangi class I attended. You left an impression because what you embodied was something I've only ever experienced in a handful of people over my lifetime and they were old kaumatua and kuia. May you rest in peace Wira and may your wife and children eventually find a sense of peace amongst the grieving.

Wira, so much love for you. Since the kids started school, you were the man to look up to. Strong, smart, humble, cheeky, sweet, talented and ALWAYS a joy to be around. My love to you. My love to Rena, you were the sweetest of hearts. A great example to your gorgeous, talented and kind children. We have all lost so much too early. I'm sorry to the whanau, I am late in learning this news, and will not be with you tomorrow. But you are all in my heart and mind. xxx arohanui Eden and Freedom
