William LEE Obituary

Passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, aged 90. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Barbara. Beloved brother of Jenny Lee, the late Naomi Lee-Dickson, and of course Mary Murphy. Brother-in-law of John and Gill Prisk, uncle and great-uncle to Melanie, Jo-Anna, Andrew and their children.

William absolutely lived the BEST life:
He loved his friends, his Lyttelton home O'Marama, (thankfully talented at DIY), his Yacht Taurewa, and especially those off-shore adventures aboard Peter and Billy's yachts. William loved his books, food, entertaining. He was always a hard worker and enjoyed his business life, the wonderful people who have worked with him over his many years...and...those long Friday lunches. William would want, Barbara too, to sincerely thank and acknowledge the remarkable staff at the Lakehouse at Burlington Village for their support, skill, care, compassion and for providing the entertainment, fun, adventures and VERY important...the delicious meals. In lieu of flowers, a card with a memory of a time shared with William would be lovely. Donations in William's memory to The BrainTree Wellness Centre, Christchurch, would be amazing, and can be made online at: braintree.org.nz. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late William Lee, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A party celebrating William's life will held at a later date.

Many happy times spent with William and Barbara. Crazy life stories told and enjoyed. Very sad that good times had to come to an end. So pleased that I was fortunate enough to have been in the company of real movers and shakers. Luv Robyn Steele

Respectfully remembered when my mother worked for him at the Sign of the Takahe in the 1970´s. Rest peacefully.
