Sincere condolences - I had the privilege of working with Bill from 1981 to 1987 when he was the Registrar at the University of Canterbury - a great mentor.

My condolences to everyone in the family. Bill helped me with my art sculpture many years ago when my mum and dad were overseas (Frank and Pauline Devonport) - he helped me solder on the brass petals on the flower. I have great memories of Irene sitting in the dining room and telling me a bit about Canada. I did not visit all that often, but I do always remember being made to feel really welcome. Your parents were exceptional and I am so sorry to hear that Bill has passed away. I still think of him every time I walk past the property in Camelot Street. My sisters also send their thoughts and wishes - Bernadette, Therese, Helen and Angela Devonport. I am sure my brother, Chris, would also if he were alive.
