Bill was a very good angler who demonstrated unique respect for the environment - bountiful farm land, water and the eager cattle around us. I was fortunate to spend many Wednesday mornings with Bill and Robin McCann in the beautiful outdoors honing my second calling to be a fisherman who caught a few famed brown trout in the Mataura, New Zealand´s popular fishing river. Bill was an exceptionally gentle and delightful friend. My thoughts and prayers go with the family as we thank God for `A "good man" hard to find´ as Flannery O´Connor reminds us.
