It was a pleasure to work with him - although we worked primarily via email, it was clear he was a vibrant individual who was full of enthusiasm and passion for everything that was important to him. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. We were colleagues at Lominger and later at Korn Ferry. And while we were worlds apart geographically, he was always accessible for advice or as a sounding board. What a loss. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family.

We are so sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was so dear and kind and wonderful to work with. He came to the states when we were married, and was lovely enough to come to our wedding reception and dance the night away with all of us. I worked with him for many years with Lominger, and he was always wonderful. He will be missed all over the world, and we are so sorry for your loss.

Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Jo, Stephen and Nicole at this most difficult time with the shock loss of Wayne. Having spent a large majority of my younger years growing up with Wayne as a family and then in the 1970s and 1980s we found ourselves serving together in the same section of the New Zealand Police Force in Christchurch we had many an adventure for sure.
Fond memories of the many good and fun times we had with respectful and brotherly like regard for each other will always remain.
Wayne you always gave everything 110% with a great passion for life, family, work and sport in particular rugby league.

May you rest in peace 'brother'

Members of the Auckland Rugby League Referees Association (ARLRA) are shocked and deeply saddened at the sudden loss of one of our most respected Life Members and past Presidents as a result of a tragic accident on the afternoon of Wednesday 23rd December.
Wayne was a passionate active and very capable referee in our game at a senior level and gave years of service to the ARLRA, ARL, NZRL, the game and the people who were and are involved in Rugby League at all levels.
Our condolences and deepest sympathies go out to wife Jo, Steven (a former ARLRA member), family and friends at this very sad time.

It is with great sadness that we hear of this tragic loss of our new and dear friend. It is since we moved here to NZ from Canada recently that we have shared some time together. I was fortunate to be included on a great golf trip together in Taupo with further plans to take on Union Officials and share wine and golf in Queenstown in a couple months.
Passionate, fun, organized and dedicated. Glad we shared the time we could together.
Jo and Family, we offer our prayers and thoughts of comfort during this difficult time.
Sincerely, Robert and Sarah Berkowski

We have many happy, special memories of you as our son-in-law, father of our grandchildren, grandfather of our great grand-daughter, brother-in-law and friend.
We met you in your early years and watched you become a wonderful father to two wonderful children who will continue your legacy on.
Such a shock to hear of your passing at such a young age but sport was always what you loved doing, enjoyed with your children and passed on to children and adults of all ages through your life.
Your time has been full of adventures throughout your careers and passion for life. Whatever you decided to do, you did it with 110% commitment.
Look out for Syd and have one of your many long discussions on rugby vs league, but just remember you will never win the argument!
We will miss your phone calls.
Our sincere condolences to Jo, who we have never met but must be a very special person to have been in your life.
Love as always xx
